ARKALUMEN ANNOUNCES THE GRANT OF ITS FIRST PATENT, WHICH IS DIRECTED TO LED POWER MANAGEMENT ALGORITHMSXS
OTTAWA, ON (CANADA) July 31, 2012 – Arkalumen today was granted its first patent in a long line of patent applications in LED lighting controls technology. US Patent No. 8,232,742 is directed to power management algorithms that enable Arkalumen to offer a novel and low cost means of distributing power to multiple LED light engines or multiple channels within a single LED light engine. These algorithms can reduce the wear and tear on power supplies and decrease any perceptible flicker. This technology is used in the popular B-105 DC/DC controller launched in 2011.
According to Gerry Briggs, CTO of Arkalumen, “Arkalumen’s patent portfolio highlights the company’s dedication to its customers in building creative solutions to LED lighting problems, and its engineering team’s commitment to offering advanced electronics solutions in the ever-expanding technical discipline of solid state lighting.” It is expected that this is the first patent of many to come for Arkalumen.
